What works, and what we know doesn’t yet.

We aim at WCAG 2.2 level AA across this site, and at level AAA for body text contrast specifically — calm palettes drift pale unless somebody holds the line, and low-contrast wellness sites are a cliché we’d rather not repeat.

What’s built in

Contrast. Body text measures 15.6:1 against the page, and secondary text 7.0:1 — both past the AAA threshold. Every colour pairing has a measured ratio recorded in our design system.
Keyboard. Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring that is styled rather than removed. There is a skip link before the navigation.
Motion. The one animation on this site is a slow fade on scroll, and it is turned off entirely if your system asks for reduced motion. Nothing flashes, pulses, autoplays, or moves without you scrolling.
Structure. One h1 per page, headings in order, real landmarks, labelled form fields, and alternative text on every image.
Zoom and small screens. Pages are built to work at 320px wide and at 200% zoom without clipping or horizontal scrolling.
No dark patterns. No fake countdowns, no manufactured scarcity, and no guilt-worded decline buttons. Leaving the list is one click with no login.

What we know is missing

Being honest is more useful than a compliance badge:

This site has not yet been tested by anyone using a screen reader daily. Our own testing is not the same thing.
It has not been through a formal external audit. That is planned before launch, not after.
Product photography does not exist yet, so the alternative text on concept renders describes an object that may still change.

Email hello@ruhplush.com and tell us what happened, with the page and roughly what you were using. It reaches a person. We will fix it and tell you when it’s fixed — and if the fix is going to take a while, we will say that instead of going quiet.
